Bio

I am Melissa Carpenter, a dedicated and experienced educator with a fulfilling 17-year career. I hold a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, a master's degree in collaborative education, a master's degree in administration, a master's degree in psychology and counseling, and an Ed.S in instructional leadership. Currently, I am working towards my doctorate, furthering my commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.

For 9 years, I taught special education, developing my skills in supporting and advocating for students with diverse needs. My passion for guiding students led me to serve as a school counselor for 7 years, providing invaluable support and guidance to countless young people.

Though I spent a year as an administrator and Career and Technical Education Director, I have since returned to the area I am most passionate about—special education. This role allows me to continue fostering the growth and development of students with unique needs.

I reside in Elba with my loving family. I am a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with my loved ones. As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., I am deeply committed to community service, regularly engaging in initiatives that uplift and support my community.

My professional journey and personal life are intertwined with my passion for education and service. I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of others through my contributions to the field and my community.
